Your IT provider stopped keeping up. Switching is safer than staying.

If tickets disappear into a national queue, first line reads from a script, and nobody senior ever picks up the phone, your provider has stopped growing with you. Moving IT provider feels risky, especially if you are mid-contract or carrying compliance obligations you cannot afford to drop. It does not have to be. We run a controlled handover, agree the timeline with you in writing, and take on the account without downtime for your team. You will speak to an engineer from the first call, not a salesperson chasing a signature.

Switching IT Provider / 01 · Signs it's time

Signs you've outgrown your current provider.

None of these on their own is fatal. Together, they are usually the point where switching stops being a hassle and starts being the safer option.

  • Response times have crept up, and nobody can tell you when a ticket will actually be picked up.
  • First line reads from a script and cannot get past a checklist, however senior the problem actually is.
  • There is no route to a senior engineer, so anything genuinely difficult gets escalated into a queue and stays there.
  • Security is sold as an add-on rather than built into the plan you are already paying for.
  • Your business has grown, taken on new clients, or entered a regulated sector, and your provider has not grown with you.
  • Compliance now matters, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, client due diligence, and your current provider cannot support it.
Switching IT Provider / 02 · The de-risked switch

Switching feels risky. Staying with the wrong provider is riskier.

Every business that has thought about switching provider has the same worries: will something break, will we lose access to our own systems, will this drag on for months. A proper switch removes those worries before they happen, not after.

01Controlled handover. Access, passwords, licences and vendor accounts move to us in an agreed order, documented in writing before anything changes.
02No downtime for your team. We put monitoring and security in place before we touch anything your staff rely on day to day, so the switch happens behind the scenes.
03We do the heavy lifting. Chasing your existing provider for access, documentation and outstanding tickets is our job, not something we leave to you.
04An honest timeline. We do not promise "a few weeks" before we have looked at your estate. Once we have, we agree a realistic timeline with you in writing.
Switching IT Provider / 03 · How it works

From first call to fully onboarded, without the drama.

Switching provider should feel boring. Here is exactly how we make that happen.

01

Initial conversation

Talk to an engineer about why you are looking to move and what is not working. No pressure, no pitch deck, just a straight conversation.

02

Audit your estate and contracts

We document what you actually have, including your current contract terms and notice period, so you know exactly what you are dealing with before committing to anything.

03

Controlled handover of access

Access, licences and vendor accounts transfer to us in an agreed, documented order, so nothing is dropped and nothing is rushed.

04

Onboard, secure, MDR in place

We fix the obvious gaps, get monitoring running, and switch on managed detection and response as standard, before we call the job done.

05

Run and review

Ongoing support from a named team, with regular reviews so the switch keeps paying off long after the handover is finished.

Switching IT Provider / 04 · What changes

What you get that a national helpdesk doesn't.

This is what most switches are actually about: not a lower price, but a different standard of service.

FAQ

Common questions

Will there be downtime when we switch?

We plan the handover so your team does not notice it happening. Monitoring and security go in before we touch anything you rely on day to day, and we sequence the access transfer so nothing is switched off before its replacement is switched on. If a specific change genuinely needs a short window, we agree it with you in advance rather than spring it on you.

How long does switching take?

It depends on the size and state of your estate, which is exactly what our initial audit establishes. We will not give you a made-up number before we have seen what we are taking on. Once we have, we agree a realistic timeline with you in writing and stick to it.

We're mid-contract with our current provider. Can we still move?

Yes, many clients start the conversation with us before their existing contract ends. We look at your current terms and notice period with you and plan the switch to fit them, rather than encourage you to breach an agreement you are still bound by. There is usually no reason to wait until the last minute to start planning.

What happens to our data and accounts during the switch?

Your data, domains and licences stay yours throughout. We take over administrative access to the accounts you agree, in a documented order, and confirm ownership sits where it should, typically with you, before we close anything out with your previous provider.

Do you tie us into a long contract?

No. Our own agreements are rolling monthly with a short notice period, not a long lock-in. We set out the terms clearly in writing before you sign, notice period included, so you know exactly what you are committing to, and a confident provider makes it easy to leave because it expects you to stay on merit. See our pricing for how we structure plans.

Switching IT Provider / 05 · Not ready to switch fully?

A full switch isn't the only option.

If handing over everything at once feels like too big a first step, there are ways to test the relationship before you commit to it.

Ready to make the switch?

Book a consultation and tell us what is not working with your current provider. We will show you exactly how the handover would run, in writing, before you commit to anything. You will speak to an engineer, not a salesperson.
