What cookies are, how Dead Simple Computing uses them, and how you can control them.
1. Introduction
Dead Simple Computing Ltd uses cookies and similar technologies on our website.
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, what this website actually sets and loads, and how you can control it.
2. How This Website Behaves
You choose whether to allow optional measurement.
- Optional measurement starts only after your choice. You can accept or reject optional cookies, or choose analytics and advertising measurement separately. The Google measurement script is not requested until a permitted measurement service is needed.
- You can change your mind. Use Cookie settings in the footer to reopen your choices. Turning off a choice reloads the page to stop its running tags. Your forms and downloads do not depend on accepting optional cookies.
Your choice is remembered for up to 180 days on this browser. Essential security services and other third-party features are described separately below. If JavaScript is unavailable, optional measurement does not load.
3. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and provide information to website owners.
- Session cookies: Temporary, expire when you close your browser
- Persistent cookies: Remain on your device for a set period
- First-party cookies: Set by the website you visit
- Third-party cookies: Set by a different website (e.g., analytics providers)
- Local and session storage: Not cookies, but a similar store in your browser that a website can read and write
4. Cookies We Set
Our own server sets two cookies. The website and its forms need them, and there is no way to turn them off while using the site.

5. Analytics and Advertising
With your analytics permission, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read, how people arrive, and what they do next. We send bounded service and page information, not your name, email, telephone number or enquiry text in our enquiry events.

Analytics data is held in our Google Analytics property under the data retention window set there.
With your advertising measurement permission, we can keep campaign and click identifiers with a submitted enquiry to understand which advertising brought useful enquiries. Where direct Google Ads tracking is configured, its tag can also set advertising cookies such as _gcl_aw (normally 90 days). We disable advertising personalisation and Google Signals in our tag configuration. We do not use tracking pixels from social media platforms.
6. How To Refuse Cookies
Choose Reject optional in the notice, or reopen Cookie settings and save your choices. The controls below provide additional browser-level options.

Blocking or clearing the two cookies in section 4 will stop our forms working.

Blocking Third-Party Requests
A tracker-blocking extension or browser setting can also block third-party requests. This may affect optional tools or the spam check on forms.
7. Third Parties We Load
Some parts of the site are requested from third parties. Those requests reveal your IP address and browser details to them, and they may set their own cookies, which we do not control.

8. Cookies and Our Tools
- The cookies in section 4 and the analytics in section 5 apply on the Tool pages exactly as they do everywhere else
- Password Generator does not use cookies, all generation happens client-side
- What your browser reveals reads the cookies and browser storage it can see and shows them back to you. That reading happens in your browser and we do not store the result. The page lists the third-party services it calls.
