Those servers held the shared files, Active Directory and line of business applications that the business relied on. The migration needed to carry those services across while retaining the existing identity and access structure.

We migrated the file server into the hosted environment so the business retained its shared data.
Preserve identity and applications
Active Directory moved alongside the line of business applications, preserving the access structure the manufacturer already used.
Connect the environment
VPN connectivity linked people to the hosted systems. Monitoring and maintenance continued on the cloud infrastructure.
What changed
The outcome
The manufacturer now runs these systems in the hosted environment. It no longer maintains the former server room, while the services its staff depend on are monitored and maintained.
Servers retired
The ageing on-premises servers were replaced by hosted infrastructure.
No replacement hardware purchase
The business avoided the capital outlay of buying new servers.
Services retained
Files, Active Directory and business applications remained available through VPN connectivity.
