Common questions
Is it safe to run this check?
Yes. The check is read only: we look up your public DNS records and fetch your public pages the way a browser would. We do not log in, scan ports, or attempt anything intrusive. Only check a domain you own or manage.
What do SPF, DKIM and DMARC actually do?
SPF identifies authorised sending servers. DKIM lets receiving servers verify a message signature. DMARC checks alignment with the visible From domain and publishes a handling policy. This tool checks public records and known DKIM selectors; it does not verify every message or guarantee email delivery.
What is a good score?
The score summarises this tool's completed public checks, with greater weight on critical findings. Start with the critical findings, then review warnings in the context of your setup. Information and unverified checks need reading too. A high score is not proof of security, certification or email deliverability.
Why does another tool give a different score?
Tools check different records, use different weights and may see different results because of caching, location or network conditions. Compare the individual findings and their technical details. Changes to DNS can also take time to appear.
What happens to the domain I enter?
The check runs from our server and the result is shown to you. We keep a log of checked domains and scores so we understand how the tool is used. Nothing is stored against your name unless you ask for the report by email or create a share link, and report links expire 30 days after the check.
