Privileged Access Management

IAM

Controls for securing, managing, and monitoring accounts with elevated permissions.

Privileged Access Management (PAM) secures accounts with elevated permissions—administrator accounts, service accounts, and other privileged credentials. PAM solutions provide password vaulting (secure storage), session recording (audit trails), just-in-time access (temporary elevation), and privileged session management. Privileged accounts are prime attacker targets because they provide broad access. PAM reduces risk by controlling, monitoring, and limiting privileged access.

Why It Matters

The DSC Perspective:

Privileged accounts are keys to the kingdom. Compromised admin credentials enable devastating attacks. Implement PAM to control privileged access, eliminate shared admin accounts, and maintain audit trails.
