Ofgem

Energy

UK energy regulator responsible for electricity and gas markets including CNI security oversight.

Ofgem (Office of Gas and Electricity Markets) is the UK government regulator for electricity and gas markets. Ofgem enforces NIS Regulations for the energy sector, overseeing cyber security requirements for energy companies designated as Operators of Essential Services. Ofgem assesses energy companies against the Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF). Energy companies must report significant cyber incidents to Ofgem.

Why It Matters

The DSC Perspective:

Ofgem regulates CNI security in energy. If you're in the energy sector or supply to it, understand Ofgem's NIS enforcement and CAF assessment expectations.
