An Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP) is an integrated solution that bundles multiple endpoint security capabilities—antivirus, anti-malware, personal firewall, device control, and increasingly EDR. EPP provides preventive protection, stopping known threats before they execute. Modern EPPs use multiple detection techniques including signatures, heuristics, machine learning, and behavioural analysis. EPP is the foundation of endpoint security, though many organisations now layer EDR on top for detection and response capabilities that EPP alone doesn't provide.
