DV Clearance

Defence

Developed Vetting—highest clearance for regular access to Top Secret information.

Developed Vetting (DV) is the highest level of UK security clearance, required for regular unsupervised access to Top Secret information. DV involves extensive background investigation including in-depth interviews, financial checks, and character assessment. The process typically takes 6+ months. DV-cleared individuals can access the most sensitive defence and intelligence information. DV requires renewal every 7 years.

Why It Matters

The DSC Perspective:

DV is required for the most sensitive defence and government work. The lengthy vetting process requires careful planning. DV-cleared staff are highly valuable and in limited supply.
