Business Impact Analysis

Business Continuity

Assessment identifying critical business functions and the impact of their disruption.

Business Impact Analysis (BIA) identifies critical business functions and analyses the impact of their disruption over time. BIA determines which functions are most important, how quickly they must be restored (RTO), how much data loss is acceptable (RPO), and what resources are needed for recovery. BIA findings inform business continuity planning, helping prioritise investments and recovery sequences. BIA should be reviewed regularly as business priorities change.

Why It Matters

The DSC Perspective:

BIA tells you what matters most. Without BIA, you might protect the wrong things or recover in the wrong order. Understand your critical functions before planning continuity.
